IPL Auction 2010 as it happens:

I would be watching the show on ESPN and would try to get the big news as it unfolds.

- Lot of excitement building up as the auction nears. A total of 66 players and 12 slots available. Lots of players from ICL -the rebel league- and Pakistan would be up for grabs. Some of the big names for today are: Afridi, Pollard, Bond, Umar Gul, Eoin Morgan, Umar Akmal, Imran Nazir, Brad Haddin and Greame Swann.

- My top 3 picks for today are Afridi, Haddin and Morgan

- There could be an issue with buying Pakistan players owing to Visa issues popping up in the near future. It would be interesting what teams decide to pay for them.

IPL auction Pools - 2010

The pools for this years auction looks like this. The auction would start at 12:00 noon tomorrow, announced Modi and said that there would be 8 pools during the auction:

First Pool: Shahid Afridi, Graeme Swann, Brad Haddin (All with a base price of USD 250,000) and Kieron Polland (Base price of USD 200,000)

Second Pool: Eion Morgan, Wayne Parnell (Both with a base price of USD 200,000), Shane Bond and Mohammad Kaif (Both with a base price of USD 100,000)

Third Pool: Doug Bollinger, Sohail Tanvir (Base price of USD 200,000 each), Umar Akmal, Shakib Al Hasan, Tim Bresnan, Darren Ganga, Justin Kemp and Nuwan Kulasekera (Base price of USD 100,000)

Fourth Pool: Kamran Akmal, Wavell Hinds, Phil Hughes, Damien Martyn, Imran Nazir, Ramnaresh Sarwan, Chamara Silva, Lendl Simmons, Upul Tharanga, and Jonathan Trott (Base price of USD 100,000 each)
